:: Pankhurst Debuts New Car In Victory Lane

In what was only his second appearance in the new car; Terry Pankhurst was able to drive to victory in the annual Garry Bourke Memorial over the June Long Weekend at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway.

After disappointingly missing out on a chance to make a winning debut aboard his brand-new Redline Mac1 earlier this year due to suffering a flat tyre, Pankhurst returned with vengeance and managed to come away with the feature race honours.

“The Gary Bourke Memorial is one of the most prestigious events on the season calendar,” expressed Pankhurst. “I have known Gary through racing and I consider it a great honour to be able to have my name on the trophy. This win was made even more special to me due to the fact that my wife Michelle brought out two children Travis and Lewis to the track for the first time.”

Aside from adding his name to the Gary Bourke Memorial trophy, Pankhurst is thrilled with the performance of his new car and efforts of the chassis’ constructor Bob Dennis.

“The difference between my former car and the new one is chalk and cheese and I thought that my old car was good, but my new car is even better,” Pankhurst said. “The car is just a pleasure to drive and it’s very responsive to the changes that you make throughout the night. A huge thanks must go out to Bob Dennis, as he has given our team a heads up with a basic setup and it’s allowed us to get up to speed almost immediately which is a testament to both his advice and construction.”

Pankhurst had qualified for the feature race out of position two in the field after he had finished his two heat races with a win and a fourth place. In the feature race Pankhurst moved to the lead quickly and from there he was never headed all the way through to the finish.

In the 2009/10 season Pankhurst and his NSW # 21 AMCA National are proudly supported by: Coast Wide Paint Supplies, Street Neat Welding, A1 Vinyl Signs, Meander Village, Kariong Automotive, WUNDA Wiper Blades, Wynn’s, Bettsy's Cylinder Head Services, Easylift Towing, V8MAX.COM, Grizzly Shocks, East Coast Speedworx, Split Fire Spark Plugs from Lynxcorp and Bob Dennis at Redline Racecars & Rollcages.
