Local Adelaide AMCA Nationals driver Brian Chadwick is as ready as he will ever be.
Going into this weekend’s Australian AMCA Nationals Championship at Moore Engineering Murray Bridge Speedway, Chadwick had a shaky start to the Murray Bridge Season. In the twin feature format on Opening Night, car troubles saw him finish the night with a ninth and a “DNF” (did not finish).
However a month later and things turned around for the SA#41 machine. Not only did Chadwick finish with a first and second in his heat races and a win in the feature race, but he also broke the eight and twelve lap track records on the night in the process.
The good form has since continued with Chadwick winning a fortnight ago, beating home a host of Victorian Title hopefuls, who were in town in readiness for this weekend’s Australian Championship.
Among them were multi Victorian Champ Adam King and inform driver Daniel Scott with three feature wins in Victoria this season.
While Chadwick will go into the weekend as the local favorite, there will be seventy other drivers hell bent on making sure their name is on the winner’s trophy.
Along with the leading Victorians, Multi Australian Champ and defending title holder Shane McKinnell from Queensland will be one to watch.
South Australia leads the nomination list with 21 cars, Victoria 20, Queensland 15, Tasmania 7, Western Australia and Northern Territory 3 each and New South Wales 2,
Preliminary heats take place on Saturday with the Finals on Sunday in conjunction with the Carline National Super Sedan Series Grand Final.
