The biggest annual AMCA event, the running of the National Championship, is slated for resolution this weekend (Sat 23rd & Sun 24th January) at the picturesque Riverview Speedway in Murray Bridge SA. And along with a huge 71 car field there will be the added bonus of live audio via the internet for all those fans unable to attend the must see event.
Four time and defending champion Shane McKinnell is heading down from his Queensland base along with 14 other sunshine-staters and is one of the pre event favorites as he tries to become the only five time national champ.
McKinnell will have huge pressure from the large Victorian contingent (20 entries) which includes hot prospects Mark Lincoln, Daniel Scott, Mick Kiraly and Adam King.
21 local aces will be doing their utmost to bring the title down to the mid south state with David Hartman, Michael Ffrench, Brian Chadwick and Stephen Schwarz set to lead the home state challenge.
3 West Aussies will make the trip east including brothers Jac and Collin Dolmans. Collin deserves some reward for effort after having just rolled his tow car and trailer while heading to Esperance and still making the trip.
Only 2 cars have entered from NSW with David Robertson a serious chance. Even the Northern Territory is sending a larger squad of three cars.
Seven teams have made the big swim across Bass Strait with recently crowned local champion Corey Smith probably the best credentialed Apple Islander.
No matter what, this will be one of the best titles ever with the tight venue sure to offer plenty of action and close racing for all to see in the grassed amphitheatre.
Additionally, courtesy of AMCA Nationals Pty Ltd and Smiley’s Racing Products, both nights of the event will be broadcast live, for free, via the internet.
The AMCA Australian Title is being broadcast live on ChatBOX.
